Short-term Memory Post (Which I Really Don’t Have! Why Now??)

I have thoughts lining up before I make this blog but I was two things: 1) Too lazy to type it on my laptop 2) Still waiting for my WordPress Apple app to finish downloading so here I am at a loss for words and having early signs of Alzheimer’s which for the love of beautiful and precious moments, I wish I will never have.

Okay, so I tweeted about me not liking books having to male characters fighting over the lead female character because I hate seeing the other guy win! I have been reading this book for almost 2 hours and I’m halfway through it but the guy I’m rooting for – Reid Alexander – who, basically is a good guy disguised as a bad guy – personalities which I usually like for men and neither am I proud of it nor embarassed about it. So there, the other guy here has already kissed Emma! But I am firm with my belief that this Graham guy has ulterior motives and Emma is not as *insert suitable adjective here” as I expect female lead characters to be. The 2 POVs in one chapter strategy is not working for me too.

I barely remember anything I wanted to blog so here are some of the things I might have actually thought of earlier.

– This reminds me of Awkward which will be airing again on the 16th of April!!! Team Rosati (although the one I’m rooting for here is kind of the Matty McKibben one)
– I needed air to breathe for Henry (Teddy Altman’s instant husband) died and I have never realized how much I liked this guy until he died. Which makes me think now… Does this apply to real life? I mean realizing you actually can live with the person whom you thought was the most annoying creature on Earth?
– I missed blogging so I’m filling the pages in.
– We’re going somewhere tomorrow and I don’t want to. And I hope we get there safely if my parents ever decide on going. But I don’t want to. Period.

———————————
And after more than half an hour, I finally remembered what I was supposed to blog about. I am thankful for the creators and the mind behind Adobe Digital Editions because I have been itching to start reading books again but unfortunately (which is a real misfortune for me but what can I do? He has the authority and I owe my whole life to him), my father has his hands glued to my device which I previously used to read .epub formatted files but yay to this application! I can now read books on my lappy (dyslexia alert, I typed in pally before changing it to lappy my gosh!) without the crappy .pdf formats in Adobe Reader. That is just about it and I’m now on chapter 21 and Reid has touched Emma’s lips to his in a not-so-romantic way that I expected but to think, Graham’s approach was a little bit too agressive as well. Team Reid all the way! Good night! 😘

** and I’m sad Henry died in Cristina’s OR but I’m happy Zola’s back to stronger than before couple MerDer ad woohoo I bet that move by Ben Warren had Miranda Bailey’s emotional barricades melt away! 😍

I don’t know if I now have higher standards when it comes to romance novels or I have just become highly-dependent of Owen Hunt lovin’. And yes, I thought I would have a different reaction to this book and no. If I have given “Slammed” 2/3 stars, I’ll give Point of Retreat 3/5. But this book made me discover that I like male POVs better! AND THIS JUST HEIGHTENS MY EXCITEMENT FOR THE RELEASE OF THE SECOND BOOK OF MY FAVORITE DISASTER SERIES!!! And just like that I could forget all about Will Cooper. God, I hate his name.

So there. I don’t like it. I don’t want to talk about it. I want to read another book. I am too tired so I’m watching Grey’s Anatomy tonight. Again. Just like I did last night because of “Slammed.” But this one page I’ll never forget. You had me at this, Will. Oh, you had me so bad with this!

I wanted to cry. I wanted to cry so hard maybe because I’ve been in a whirlwind of emotions now but all those are in the higher, happier level for days now. I wanted to cry so hard to have a better reason to blow my nose other than the virus I caught days ago. I wanted to cry like how Meredith Grey did to me when he showed Derek their “house” with just candles, like how Alex Karev’s wedding vow did to me, whenever Hunt kisses Yang!, like how the scene where Ed Slaterton said sorry to Min and him wanting to screw up again and say it a million times because that’s how long they are together, how the love of Travis and Abby made me cry and how these things make me cry by just thinking about them but wanting to do it over and over again.

Image

I made the wrong choice. Not that it was not a good book, it was a good one. But Will Cooper will definitely not make it to the top of my list of the best male fictional characters. I hated that it contained of things familiar to me. The name Will Cooper, really? What’s next? Tiny Grayson? The name Gavin was mentioned in On Dublin Street and I hated that they were opposites. That Elizabeth Kubler Ross quote and I swear, I could hear Meredith speaking as I read it. I ABSOLUTELY HATED HOW WILL OCCUPIED MOST OF THE BOOK’S PAGES BY SAYING LAKE AND HIM CAN’T BE TOGETHER! The author wanted to make this novel as close to reality as possible but hell, fiction should take our hearts to a whole new world! I’m disappointed, I wanted to cry and I still want to. You failed me, Will and you better not in the next book!

Feeling Critic: 21 Jump Street Movie Review

This has got to be one of the funniest films I’ve ever seen. It had me laughing all throughout the film and I never once got bored although I watched it for days because it was prelims week and though it may not seem that I prioritize my studies, I actually do. If I were to rate it, I’ll give it 9.5/10 stars for the reason that I might not seem to be serious about writing this review if I gave it a perfect score (haha whut).

Synopsis (from IMDb because I’m feeling worse that I was last night):

In high school, Schmidt (Jonah Hill) was a dork and Jenko (Channing Tatum) was the popular jock. After graduation, both of them joined the police force and ended up as partners riding bicycles in the city park. Since they are young and look like high school students, they are assigned to an undercover unit to infiltrate a drug ring that is supplying high school students synthetic drugs.

Quotes:

I’ll only give you one though, my most favorite quote and God, I’m still laughing my ass off over this. Hahaha!

Yay’s:

– Channing Tatum!

– Funny shit. I’ll watch it over and over again.

– The Korean Jesus scene was hilarious!

– Ladies, it’s Channing fucking Tatum. You do get my point.

Boo’s:

– Uhh… I watched it a bit late. Boo!

Feeling Critic: The Boy in the Striped Pajamas Book and Film Review

Standard

First things first: to be honest, I fell asleep halfway through the movie but t give justice to the film, it was not because of it but because I was too exhausted from the prelims we just had (and I’m still not feeling well). But because of the reaction my sister and my mom had after watching the film, I’ve concluded that it was a great film. I was not able to finish reading the book either because I think I accidentally deleted the e-book from my device and then I wen Ana-ing and eventually forgot about it. To make this post shorter, I’d like to say that the book and the film are equally good (but of course, I’ll remain on the side of books like I have always been).

Synopsis:

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas is a book/film about the friendship about a German boy named Bruno and a Jew kid named Schmuel set in the time of the Holocaust. Bruno is a son of a German soldier and upon the promotion of his dad, the family moved into a new place without knowing what job the father now has. Bruno have always dreamed of becoming an explorer and one day because of his boredom and against his mother’s rule not to go to the “farm”, he met Schmuel and this has started a stunning story of real love between friends.

And since I can’t go on with the synopsis because tears are already filling up my eyes, I’d end this post by sharing some quotes from it and the trailer. I highly recommend this film.

Quotes:

Bruno: I’m Bruno.
Shmuel: Shmuel.
Bruno: Sorry?
Shmuel: I’m Shmuel.
Bruno: That’s your name? I’ve never heard of anyone called that before.
Shmuel: I’ve never heard of anyone called Bruno.
Bruno: Shmuel? No one’s called Shmuel.

Bruno: Why do you wear pajamas all day?
Shmuel: The soldiers. They took all our clothes away.
Bruno: My dad’s a soldier, but not the sort that takes people’s clothes away.

[about Gretel’s reading from their tutor of popaganda about “the Jew”]
Bruno: I don’t understand. One man caused all this trouble?

My How I Met Your Mother Feels

Standard

A new episode has been released after HIMYM s08e11-12 which for me is the best episode ever! And I still can’t figure out the sole reason why I love this episode so much since I have two equally valid reasons: 1) I ship Barney and Robin so hard my ship now flies and 2) I’m a sucker for jerks turning into the best lovers upon finding “the one.”

tumblr_mf7i3ddnCm1ro6bpyo4_r1_250

Okay so this post is just for me to list everything I feel about the show:

  1. I love Barney Stinson and that will never change.
  2. I still think Robin is the mother of Ted’s kids. Or want her to be despite my Barney-Robin shipping. I just don’t think the first episode would make perfect sense if Barney and Robin end up together and Ted still has feelings for Robin okay.
  3. If it’s not Robin, I think it’s Barney’s half-sister, the one Barney’s dad talked about in one episode named Carly which a lot of people assume to be Ted’s wife. If it’s her, please let us see her already!
  4. I hate Victoria.
  5. I loved Stella!
  6. I still get hyped whenever I think of How I Met Your Mother having their ninth season!
  7. It’s funnier than F.R.I.E.N.D.S.
  8. Oh, I love Marshal’s jokes.
  9. I don’t think I’ve seen that episode where Marshal’s dad died…
  10. Young Scooter and Lily are the funniest!
  11. The funniest thing Barney did was when he took his ripped suit to the tailor crying. =)))
  12. My least favorite character is actually Ted.

And I think that’s all about it. I just made it for the purpose of creating another post, really. No hate. Haha!

Feeling Critic: Lie to Me, a Review

I’d like to thank Aicha for lending me the DVD! ♥

Rating: 4.25/5.00

Summary: Who says a little lie doesn’t hurt? Thinking of it as revenge for stealing her first love, Gong Ah Jung (Yoon Eun-hye) , tells a lie about getting married. This small made-up story becomes even bigger when the president of a huge company, Hyun Ki Joo (Kang Ji-hwan) is dragged into it. Wanting to clean his image, Ki Joo makes plans of taking the matter to court which ended up with something he did not originally plan to do, help Ah Jung make this lie seem real, starting with both parties writing a contract which makes them a fake married couple. This scripted plot later on affects both Ki Joo’s and Ah Jung’s life and the truth is finally unveiled but then both of them know that what they feel is no longer planned, they’ve realized that they have already fallen in love with each other and together, they surpassed the challenges including that of Yu Jun, Ki Joo’s ex-fiancée whom he broke up with because his brother, Sang Hee was in love with her too, and lived happily in the end. Yikes, this summary sucks, sorry. I’ll make changes later on!

WARNING: CONTAINS SPOILERS.

Choosing something you’ll regret is not my fault anymore, okay okay?

Yay’s:

–  A bit different than other Korean dramas with an elderly wanting to separate the couple or that someone dies from a sickness or an accident.

–  Of course, it’s funny.

–  Oh, the lines. Really sweet!

–  The actors played their roles very well although some of Sang Hee’s scenes were awkward.

–  This drama was the first to actually make me say “Omo!”

Boo’s:

–  The drama rather focused on Ki Joo and Ah Jung only in the last episodes. Until now, I’m really curious as to what happened to Sang Hee and Yu Jun.

–  The phasing in the first few episodes were slow. I already wanted a kilig scene on the third episode but I guess it made the story better. But if I were to change it, It’ll be one of the things I’d alter.

–  The ending!!! What do you expect in a K-Drama?! It’s always like that. If not predictable, it’s bitin or not at all given more attention by the scriptwriters. And in this drama, it was both. They could have at least gotten married and had an actual housewarming party!!!

Favorite Scene/s:

Image

The housewarming party!!! He unexpectedly kissed her and we all know he was not at all acting!! Omo!!! This is the best scene! And Ki Joo was so gwapo in this part! He was jealous too, seeing Jae Bum and Ah Jung together. That moment when he said he’ll sing together with Ah Jung made my heart jump! And then let me repeat, when he kissed her… clearly the best moment in this drama! ❤

I finished this drama within 2 days, made the theme song my ringtone. Tantanantantanan ♫ I love this! And I always play my favorite scene before I sleep. Yes, you guys should watch this! Although it is going to be aired in GMA-7 soon, Ki Joo’s voice is super sexy, you won’t regret watching it in its original version. Haha! Tell me when you’ve already seen this, I’d like to compare my review with yours. Enjoy!
